Knot Project Space presented a conversation between with naakita feldman-kiss, Nelly Matorina and Ivanie Aubin-Malo, moderated by Ottawa-based artist, filmmaker and choreographer, Laura Taler. This conversation was presented as part of a series of events that brought together three young artists exploring intergenerational exchange (understood as the processes of learning, modes of relation and collaborative exercises that occur between generations) in their respective artistic practices. feldman-kiss, Matorina and Aubin-Malo each approached the terrain of the intergenerational from distinct points of origin. Through their work with the moving image, installation and performance, each engaged with the flows of knowledge and experience that occur between generations, as transmitters and receivers, teachers and mediators, searchers and protectors.

Laura Taler

Romanian-born Canadian artist Laura Taler began her career as a contemporary dance choreographer before turning her attention to filmmaking and visual art. Throughout her career Taler has explored the links between movement, memory, and history by using cinematic and choreographic devices to articulate how the body is able to carry the past without being oppressed by it.
